Save $200 On The DJI Osmo Pocket 3

I’m in complete disbelief at the current price of the DJI Osmo Pocket 3 Creator Combo, I had to write this ASAP. It’s now $130 more than when I first bought mine! Just last week, I spotted it at Costco for $499.

Now, to be fair, the Costco bundle doesn’t include everything that comes in the $799 version you’ll find on Amazon or at Best Buy. But don’t worry, I’ve got a workaround that gets you everything you need and saves you up to $200.

What I paid after tax for my Creator Combo

Below is the side by side breakdown of each combo and how you can get this amazing camera for even cheaper than I did.

First, we’ve got the standard Osmo Pocket 3. This version will be important later when we break down the price and accessories.

If you’re serious about content creation, you’re probably eyeing the “Creator Combo.” At $799.99, it’s still a solid price considering the quality and included accessories. But knowing it’s $130 more than when it first dropped, that hurts a bit.

This is the Costco bundle priced at $499.99 and at first glance, it looks like a steal. But it’s not exactly the “Creator Combo.” It’s a slight step down, though still a step up from the $619.99 option.

The Costco bundle comes with:

  1. Camera

  2. Protective cover

  3. 1/4” screw thread handle

  4. Extra battery

  5. Tripod

  6. Micro SD

While the Creator Combo comes with:

  1. Camera

  2. Protective cover

  3. 1/4” screw thread handle

  4. Extra battery

  5. Tripod

  6. Bluetooth mic

  7. Wrist strap

  8. Wide angle lens

  9. Zipper case

Now, if you’re set on getting the Creator Combo but still want to save some money, here’s what you do: grab the Costco bundle, then pick up the Mic 2 separately, it’s $99 on Amazon, and right now it's on sale for $84.95. You can also find it through other online retailers.

Then, add in a few extras: a wrist strap for around $7, the zipper case for $19.99, and a wide-angle lens for about $22, all on Amazon. That brings your total for the four additional accessories to roughly $147.99. Add that to the $499.99 Costco bundle and your total comes out to $647.98 before tax. That’s a $152.01 savings compared to the $799.99 Creator Combo.

But here’s where it gets even better: based on my experience and my friends who own this camera, you honestly don’t need all of those extras. The wide-angle lens rarely gets used, the wrist strap is nearly impossible to put on (most people don’t even bother), and the zipper case isn’t essential unless you’re traveling and even then, any case you already own will probably work just fine.

Without those three accessories, your total drops to just $599 before tax — that’s a $200.99 savings.

If you are someone who does not need the Creator Combo, the best value is hands down the Costco bundle. Not only do you save money, but you actually get more than what’s offered in DJI’s standard combo, trust me, the extra battery is life saver. Most importantly the Costco bundle includes a micro SD card, which DJI doesn’t include in any of their combos.
